Welcome to UR2026. To ensure a smooth arrival at the Ritsumeikan University Osaka Ibaraki Campus (OIC), please review the following transportation guidelines. The campus is conveniently located within walking distance of JR Ibaraki Station.
※ Critical Note on Train Categories
When traveling via the JR Kyoto Line, please be highly attentive to the train category.
• Rapid (Kaisoku / 快速): Stops at JR Ibaraki Station. (Recommended)
• Local (Futsu / 普通): Stops at JR Ibaraki Station.
• Special Rapid (Shin-Kaisoku / 新快速): Does NOT stop at JR Ibaraki Station.
Note: If you inadvertently board a Special Rapid train, please disembark at Takatsuki Station (if coming from Kyoto) or Shin-Osaka Station (if coming from Osaka) and transfer to a Rapid or Local train.
1. From Kansai International Airport (KIX)
• By JR Limited Express “Haruka”:
Take the Haruka train directly to JR Shin-Osaka Station.
Transfer to the JR Kyoto Line (Platform 13 or 14).
Board a Rapid or Local train bound for Kyoto and disembark at JR Ibaraki Station.
Total travel time: Approx. 70–80 minutes.
2. From Osaka International Airport (Itami / ITM)
• By Limousine Bus (Recommended):
Take the airport limousine bus bound for JR Shin-Osaka Station.
From Shin-Osaka, transfer to the JR Kyoto Line (Platform 13 or 14).
Board a Rapid or Local train to JR Ibaraki Station.
• By Osaka Monorail:
Take the monorail bound for Kadoma-shi.
Disembark at Unobe Station.
The campus is a 10–15 minute walk from the station.
3. From JR Osaka Station (City Center / Umeda)
• By JR Line (Rapid Service):
Proceed to Platform 8, 9, or 10 (JR Kyoto Line).
Board a Rapid (Kaisoku) train bound for Kyoto.
Travel time: Approx. 13 minutes.
• By JR Line (Local Service):
Board any Local (Futsu) train bound for Kyoto or Takatsuki.
Travel time: Approx. 18 minutes.
Caution: Ensure you do not board the Special Rapid (Shin-Kaisoku), which departs from adjacent platforms.
4. From JR Shin-Osaka Station (Shinkansen Hub)
• By JR Line (Rapid Service):
Transfer from the Shinkansen to the JR Regular Lines.
Proceed to Platform 13 or 14 (JR Kyoto Line).
Board a Rapid (Kaisoku) train bound for Kyoto.
Travel time: Approx. 9 minutes.
• By JR Line (Local Service):
Board a Local (Futsu) train from the same platforms.
Travel time: Approx. 11 minutes.
5. From JR Kyoto Station
• By JR Line (Rapid Service):
Proceed to Platform 4 or 5 (JR Kyoto Line).
Board a Rapid (Kaisoku) train bound for Osaka/Sannomiya.
Travel time: Approx. 22 minutes.
• By JR Line (Special Rapid Transfer):
Board a Special Rapid (Shin-Kaisoku) bound for Osaka.
Disembark at Takatsuki Station.
Transfer to a Local or Rapid train on the same platform to reach JR Ibaraki Station (one stop away).
※ Final Approach: From JR Ibaraki Station to Campus
1. Exit the train and proceed to the East Exit of the station.
2. Take the escalator down to the first floor.
3. A 5-minute walk along a dedicated pedestrian pathway will lead you directly to the university entrance.
Getting to the Reception
From JR Ibaraki Station (East Exit), follow the yellow pedestrian route to the Reception on the 2nd floor of Building B. Please use the pedestrian path marked OK (do not cross where marked NG).
